However, manufacturers remain silent about the carbon footprint of their supposedly "zero-emission" vehicles. Not only do they consume electricity that is not always clean, but they also consume precious metals like cobalt or lithium, the mining of which has devastating consequences on the other side of the world.
In China, for example, the Heilongjiang province is covered in toxic dust that affects agricultural areas.
